Boschert Notching Machines
What is Metal notching?
Notching is a metal shearing process used to cut sheet metal or thin barstock. Notching is typically a cost-efficient process, particularly due to low tooling costs. Similar to metal shearing, the notching blade presses down into the workpiece to shear the metal off at one end. However, notching is better suited to performing angular shears, and can be useful for highly customized metal parts. The speed of notching is usually limited by manual handling when loading a workpiece into the press. Almost any type of metal can be notched (depending on the machine of course), but different power levels can determine your operational speed and efficiency.
